The first FY2023 (Reiwa 5) Tohoku Medical Physics Skill-Up Workshop was held. The use of AI in medical imaging is expected to increase further going forward. This workshop covers automated contour extraction in radiation therapy planning, an AI application already used in clinical practice, including current examples of clinical use, followed by hands-on practice using MONAI, a Python image processing framework, so that participants can experience how AI works in ways that clinical application use alone cannot convey, deepening their understanding of automated contour extraction.
