Takayoshi Yamashita, who has now been appointed Technical Advisor at Elith, specializes in computer vision and is a researcher in intelligent informatics covering a wide range of areas from the fundamentals to applications of AI. He conducts pioneering research especially in the fields of deep learning, image processing, and pattern recognition. He is also active in industry-academia collaboration, and his research is expected to have a major impact on the future development of AI technology. With Yamashita's appointment as Technical Advisor, Elith will further accelerate its business expansion, backed by his advice on R&D and business development in the AI field.

■ Profile of Takayoshi Yamashita
Since 2002, worked on the research and development of face image analysis algorithms at an electronics manufacturer. Moved to Chubu University in 2014, serving as Lecturer and Associate Professor before becoming a Professor in 2021. Was among the first to realize deep learning-based methods for various problems in computer vision, and has received awards including the Best Paper Award at the Symposium on Sensing via Image Information (2015) and the Nagao Award at the Meeting on Image Recognition and Understanding (MIRU) (2019, 2020). Has also presented research at top-tier international conferences in computer vision (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, and others). Has also served as program committee chair at conferences in Japan and abroad, and is an expert member of the Japan Deep Learning Association.
