Supporting data use in the AI era through synthetic data, annotation, and data analysis
Elith Inc. (head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, CEO & CTO: Koki Inoue; hereinafter “Elith”) announces the establishment of a subsidiary, Elith Data Intelligence Inc. (hereinafter “EDI”), specializing in the design, creation, and evaluation of data needed for AI and robot development, as well as in the analysis and use of corporate data.
EDI will operate its business around two pillars: “creating” the data needed for AI and robots, and “making use of” the data that companies hold. In addition to conventional data annotation, it provides end-to-end support covering the generation of synthetic data using AI, the design of evaluation datasets, the development of data for robots, and the analysis and structuring of corporate data.
■ Background to the establishment
While high-performance AI models, including generative AI, are becoming widely available, AI development still faces many data-related challenges on the ground, including a shortage of training data, inconsistent data quality, a lack of evaluation data, and usage restrictions due to personal or confidential information.
To address these challenges, we established EDI as a subsidiary specializing in the data domain, in order to more strongly advance data development and analysis using generative AI and simulation, in addition to the collection and annotation of real data.
■ Elith Data Intelligence's main businesses
- Data development for AI and robots
- We design and create the data needed to improve the performance of AI and robots. This includes synthetic data generation, data annotation, evaluation dataset design, and creating data that requires specialized expertise.
- Analysis and simulation using synthetic data
- We design personas and scenarios based on customer data and statistical information, and create synthetic data using generative AI. This supports analysis and simulation that would be difficult with real data alone, such as market analysis and the validation of marketing initiatives.
- Corporate data analysis and AI use
- We analyze and organize data accumulated within a company and prepare it in a form that can be used for AI and operational improvement. We support everything from optimizing data for RAG and LLMs, to data analysis and forecasting, to AI and PoC development.
